This is what the baby's room looked like on January 1, 2008. Luckily, we still have
3 months before Kiwi (our nickname for her) is due to arrive!
What if she shows up early, you ask?
Our response: How could she? She's our child, so arriving early is nearly impossible!
Well, it's now January 20, 2008. It's been a couple of weeks and a little bit
more progress has been made in
clearing out the back bedroom. The plan is to (hopefully) start painting before the
end of January. Baby Furniture Warehouse, the store in NH where we ordered Kiwi's crib and dresser,
called this week to say the furniture has arrived. Jon will have to call to schedule the delivery
sometime in February.
This is what the room looked like after Kathy told Jon he could check the wiring in the baby's room. Unfortunately,
Jon discovered many problems with the wiring and some of the wood in the walls...all of which he felt
compelled to fix before the baby arrived. It's now late January/early February and Kathy is seriously
wondering if the room will EVER be ready before Kiwi makes her grand entrance!
This is just before the long Presidents' Day weekend. Jon is hurrying to get the walls fixed and all his "stuff"
put away before Kathy's parents arrive on
Saturday afternoon.
Wow! What a difference a 3 day weekend makes! Plus the arrival of 2 anxious grandparents armed with paint brushes.
In addition, you can't see their contributions, but Drew Ozier and Anthony Zalesky also came over to help with wiring
and other stuff in the basement.
And just in time too, as the new baby furniture was delivered and assembled two days later (February 20, 2008).
Kiwi sure has it good - her crib and dresser cost more than her Mom's bedroom set! (Thanks Wai Pao and Wai Gong)
