February brought more illness to the family (it feels like at least one of us has been sick every week since Thanksgiving!). Kathy's parents came up for a weekend and Jon went on a business trip to Asia for a week.

February 3, 2010: Not only did Aurora peel a clementine on her own, she did it with her foot on the kitchen step can, just like Mama does. She must be so smart - Jon was in his 30's before he knew how to peel an orange on his own :)

Lately, Aurora has really been into playing with the puppets, especially Eecs.

February 6, 2010: We attended a fashion show at Walnut Hill that evening. After the show, Aurora tries out the "catwalk"

February 12, 2010: Wai Po and Wai Gong arrive for the weekend. Here they are watching a Baby Einstein DVD with Aurora. Obviously, Wai Gong loves the show!

February 13, 2010: We went to the Children's Museum that morning. A new Curious George exhibit had recently opened up so we took advantage of the members-only hours (and smaller crowds) to check it out.

The basketball room is a must do for Aurora every time we go.

Video: Dunk!

Aurora tried out the climbing wall too.

Bounce! bounce!

Jon assists Wai Po in the pulley ride.

Aurora and Jon tried to make a windmill spin fast enough to turn a bike tire.

Three generations together.

February 14, 2010: Happy Valentine's Day! Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Museum of Science! While Jon went to the special Harry Potter exhibit, the rest of us went to the butterfly garden and had a snack. Aurora was still nervous about having the butterflies flitting around her.

This is how Aurora prefers to look at butterflies!

A self-portrait.

Aurora gets close to a bearded dragon. (no touch!)

February 19, 2010: The annual Cornell-Harvard hockey game (Cornell won 3-0). Once again, Aurora was really following the action - she especially liked giving high 5's after each of Cornell's 3 goals.

By halfway through the third period, several Harard fans had left and Aurora decided it was a good time to start exporing the arena. She and Jon walked around a bit, washed hands, and climbed over the benches.

February 20, 2010: We all got up super early to take Jon to Logan. After he checked in, we had a little bit of breakfast together. Aurora complained about having the bright sun in her eyes.

February 21, 2010: Happy birthday Mama! Lindsey and Justin treated Kathy and Aurora to dinner that night. Aurora did not eat much of her pizza, but she loved the chocolate mousse!

February 23, 2010: Aurora is so excited to get a "big cheese" that evening! Too bad she has trouble slicing off a piece on her own.

February 25, 2010: In order to get us out of the door (semi) on time in the mornings, Aurora started having breakfast to go sometimes. She really didn't mind munching on a (still) frozen waffle in the car on the way to school.

February 27, 2010: I think Aurora is part New York Jew. We went to Rosenfeld's to get fresh bagels that morning (in part to let Jon sleep in a bit since he arrived home after midnight). The whole way home, she kept asking for her bagel. When I told her she had to wait until we got back, she became quiet until the moment the car was parked at the house, and then she began to ask for a bagel again. She really enjoyed her warm sesame bagel, and even liked the lox!

February 28, 2010: It's Chinese New Year at the Boston Children's Museum! Unfortunately, Aurora wasn't too interested in the events for the celebration, but she still had a great time that day.

Aurora really enjoyed "Peep's World" and the water and sand tables this time. I love how she asks to put on the smock before she starts to play with the water!

After getting soaked (despite waering a bib), Aurora had an outfit change. Then she dived under this table -- Aurora loves to watch the turtles swimming in their home!

Back at home, Aurora has a snack (we leave the oranges out where she can help herself to one when she is hungry).

Later, Jon demonstrates Eecs' mastery of hand puppets, which seems to freak Aurora out a bit.
