Many changes took place in June, the biggest of which was that the school year ended for Kathy and Aurora stopped going to day care. The weather was not very cooperative, raining almost every day for several weeks. We tried to get outside when we could, and Aurora learned how to splash in puddles.

At the end of the month, Grandma Zalesky came up from Houston for an extended visit.

Tooth count: 11.5 (her second tooth on the upper left came in and her canine next to it is starting to break through)

June 15, 2009: Ouch! Aurora learns one of the dangers of being in day care.

June 21, 2009: Father's Day. That morning, Aurora found a new box to play with in the living room. She climbed right in all by herself!

Later in the afternoon, we went to The Butterfly Place. Aurora enjoyed it, though she was a bit scared of all the things (butterflies and birds) zipping around in the air. When a butterfly landed on her arm, she got very anxious about it (even though she was in long sleeves) and could not relax until it flew off a few minutes later. Her favorite part of the day? Sticking her head through the giant butterfly!

What is my crazy Baba doing?

I want to try it too!

I am going to hold on real tight to Baba so these butterflies won't attack me!

We don't think Aurora noticed the giant moth in the tree next to her.

Yes, Mama was there too.

Aurora loved this part so much, she didn't want to leave!

June 27, 2009: Aurora wakes up from a nap with a bad case of bed head. Wonder if that's why she's crying? (or are her teeth bothering her?)

June 28, 2009: I can put this magnet back on the fridge for you Baba...yea! I did it!

Aurora really likes to play with telephones - her toy phone, our cell phones, the answering machine and the house phone are all popular play things. She loves to pretend to be talking on the phone. Funny thing is, when we actually put the phone up to her ear so she can talk to Baba, Wai Pao or Grandma, she acts scared and confused and refuses to talk into it.
