October was a big month for Aurora. She finally learned to crawl and in just one week, went from being able to crawl a few feet to being able to get from the living room, through the dining room, and into the kitchen. She is still working on walking, but she loves to walk around the house while holding Mama or Baba's hands. She learned to pull herself up in her crib. In fact, we never knew where we'd find Aurora in her crib in the morning or after a nap - she moved around quite a bit and often was facing the doorway, looking down the hall for us. She also got a few more teeth.

Jon's birthday is on October 13th, and Kathy was trying to each Aurora to say "Baba" as a birthday gift to Jon. Well, Aurora did not cooperate by the 13th, but she was saying "baba" and "bababa" a few weeks later.

During the last weekend in October, Kathy's parents came up for a weekend. Luckily, they were able to stay an extra day on Monday - Aurora had a slight fever the day before, so Wai Pao and Wai Gung provided grandparent day care while Kathy and Jon went to work.

On Halloween night, we went to a party at the O'Malley's. Aurora was dressed up as a ballerina. She got to play with lots of other children at the party. The following night, we went to a more grown up party, but had to leave early so that Mama (and Aurora) could get to bed before midnight.


October 1: Aurora has learned how to feed herself a bottle. What does she need Mama for anymore? (oh - to fill the bottles!)



October 5: A beautiful fall day - perfect for a walk at Hemlock Gorge in Newton. Here Aurora is all ready to head outside.

October 9: Aurora discovers one of the hazards of being the youngest (and least mobile) babies in day care. She was attacked by another girl today! (we like to think it's because she was jealous that Aurora is so much cuter)



October 13: Wake up sleepyhead!



October 18: Wake up Baba...I want to play!

October 26: Aurora enjoys eating - a lot! Sometimes, she is still hungry after she finishes a serving of solids. Here she is, licking out her bowl and spoon (just like her dad does).

October 27: Wai Pao and Wai Gung babysat Aurora today. Here Aurora is practicing walking with Wai Pao.

October 31: Aurora's first Halloween! Here we are getting ready to go to the O'Malley's.



November 1: This is at Meghan's party. Aurora is with Amy, her Daddy, Meghan, and Zuania.
