September 2012: The end of summer and the return to school for Aurora and Mama. Despite being apart
most of the week now, we still managed to squeeze in lots of
fun activities anyway. Aurora's ballet class began and our Saturday mornings were spent in the
Natick area. Early in the month, we took advantage of the still warm days to get in a bit more
pool time. Later in the month, we went to several festivals.
September 1, 2012: We started the long weekend doing something most girls love to do - shoe shopping! For
some reason, we had been having trouble finding new school shoes for Aurora this fall. We ended up at
the local shoe store (The Shoe Barn), where Aurora got a pair of Clarks. They were having a promotion
that weekend, so with the $60 shoes, she got a free ice cream. Here she is modeling her new shoes.

Back at home, there was pletny of time for goofing off in the backyard before Aurora and Jon set up the tent for
one last campout.
September 2, 2012: We headed out to the Walnut Hill pool one last time. The water was a bit chilly that day so
we did not spend much time in the pool.
September 3, 2012: A day in Boston. Aurora decided she wanted to go to the Frog Pond again. We first hit
the playground. Aurora got to show Jon some of the skills she learned at My Gym.

September 7, 2012: The annual E Ink summer party was at the McCurry's house.

September 8, 2012: In the morning, Aurora had her first ballet class. Afterwards, we go to Natick Days.
Aurora first builds a toolbox.
Then she headed over to one of the obstacle courses.
Next, she takes a break in her stroller while waiting for a pony ride. She even waited a bit longer
so she could ride the bigger pony (which Kathy thinks is a horse).
And then another obstacle course followed by trampolines.

Aurora got a short nap in the car on the way to the Newton Library Open House. Animal Adventures
was there with a wide variety of small animals, from a skunk to a chinchilla.
There was even a dress up "photo booth". Aurora's sign was a big hit.
September 9, 2012: The next afternoon, it was back to Walnut Hill for the school carnival. Aurora
started out at the snack station.
Here she is getting a tattoo.
Now she is ready for the obstacle course! She did it multiple times, racing with other kids,
Baba, and Mama.
Aurora finally takes another snack break.
A short nap in the car and we end up at Open Gym at My Gym.

September 13. 2012: Baseball in the backyard.

September 15, 2012: We got up super early to take Jon to the airport. After we see him off,
Aurora requests her customary airport breakfast.
After ballet class, we hit Snip Its for Aurora's back-to-school hair cut.
While at the Waltham Farmers' Market, we noticed a festival happening across the street on the town green. So
of course we had to go check it out. More obstacle courses and giant slides to try out! My favorite
part of the day? While waiting for their turns on the obstacle course, other kids were trying to figure
out who they would be racing against. Aurora ended up being paired with a boy a few years older than she was, and who
I could tell thought that he could easily beat her (afterall, she was in a skirt and a floppy flower hat!). In the end,
she smoked him. All that practice last week in Natick paid off!

September 20, 2013: After school, we go pick up our CSA farm share at Sofra. While
we love getting our weekly supply of organic veggies, picking them up at a bakery can be tricky.
Aurora usually gets a treat while we are there.
September 21, 2012: Aurora gets in some yoga before school.
After school, we head to Logan to pick up Jon. Dinner is at Cabot's that night.
September 22, 2012: After ballet, we meet up with Greer for lunch at Bertucci's.
We spend the afternoon at Watertown's Faire on the Square.
September 23, 2012: Play date with Saavedra!
September 28, 2012: That evening, we go check out a newly opened indoor playspace.

Newtonville Day. An overcast day will not keep this family away from the festival
that is literally right down the street from our home! We run into the Howard and the
Giroux families while we are there.

September 30, 2012: The Autumn Moon Festival at Walnut Hill has become a favorite for Aurora.
